Who this is for

Managers and owners. Seeing this screen needs analytics or time-tracking access, or the permission that manages projects — the last of which the default Manager role already carries, so Managers and Owners see this by default. Without any of them, the page shows “Time reports are restricted” — “Budget, burn and billable amounts need analytics or time-tracking access. Ask an owner if you need it.”

What you’ll see

  • One card per external project, showing its provider, tracked hours against billable hours, the billable amount when it can be priced, and a “mixed currency” note when it can’t be shown as a single figure.

  • Underneath, an Hours bar (tracked time against the project’s hour budget, or “no budget” if none is set) and, when a money cap exists, a Budget bar for the billable amount against it.

  • Selecting a card expands its full report: Tracked, Billable (with how much of that is non-billable), Billable amount (or “—” when no rate is set or currencies are mixed), and Projected — an on-track or over-budget read for the period, or “needs a date window” without one.

  • A note when some billable time couldn’t be priced: “Some billable time could not be priced and is excluded from the amount (a missing or non-hourly rate). Hours are complete.”

  • By member and By item tables breaking the same tracked, billable and amount figures down further.

  • A Download PDF button for that project’s report (label changes to “Preparing…” while it’s generating).

Budgets on this screen are read-only. The cap shown in the Hours and Budget bars comes from a budget set for that external project, but this screen has no button, field or form to set or clear one — you can only watch the burn against a cap that already exists somewhere else. Even the empty state’s own wording invites you to “set a budget,” but there currently isn’t a dashboard screen that lets you do that.

If it doesn’t work

  • Without access, the page shows “Time reports are restricted” (as above).

  • No external projects yet: “No external projects yet” — “Log time from a Jira / Trello / ClickUp / Asana surface, or set a budget, and it will appear here.”

  • “Couldn’t load the report summary” or “Couldn’t load the report” — retry from the button shown.
